Inorganic constituents from a variety of sources can impact water quality. Our team brings decades of industry experience and research/academic-level understanding of geologic and geochemical controls on inorganic constituent fate and transport in surface and groundwater to provide our clients with robust and defendable project outcomes. Our team is experienced with all of project lifecycles from conceptualization to investigation, remediation, monitoring, and closure of inorganic water contamination sites. Recent project work has included:
- Conceptual site model development and post-closure groundwater monitoring at a municipal landfill site in Delaware for iron, cobalt, manganese, and hexavalent chromium.
- Conceptual site model development for a CERCLA-regulated industrial arsenic site and development of arsenic fixation and MNA approaches in New Jersey.
- Geochemical modeling and site data collection to support MNA as a remedy at an NJDEP-regulated industrial arsenic site in New Jersey.
- Site characterization sampling and geochemical data processing and interpretation for pH, fluoride, gallium, vanadium, selenium, aluminum, and arsenic in groundwater at a former metal ore refinery in Australia.
- Development of an inorganic geochemistry groundwater monitoring program and statistical benchmarks for a carbon dioxide storage reservoir in Australasia.
- Monitored natural attenuation data assessment and program development of radiological constituents and fluoride at a former mine waste landfill in Illinois.
- Assessment of transition metal attenuation mechanisms at a former shipyard in Louisiana.
- Conceptual model development, ecological risk assessments, and remediation technologies for fluoride, cyanide, and trace metals at former smelter sites throughout North America and internationally.
