Environmental, Health, and Safety Compliance Auditing and Program Management

EHS Support provided comprehensive Environmental, Health, and Safety (EH&S) compliance auditing and program management services for a large, multi‑site North American manufacturer and distributor of pressure‑treated wood products operating industrial production, treatment, storage, and logistics facilities across the United States and Canada. Since the client’s operations involve high‑hazard processes, including chemical wood treatment, bulk material handling, mobile equipment, rail and vehicle traffic, maintenance shops, and environmental control systems, it was essential that the auditing team had deep experience auditing complex, high‑hazard industrial and manufacturing environments.

Our team of certified auditors provided a broad range of services that included:

  • Performing full‑scale EH&S compliance audits across US and Canadian facilities
  • Coordinating and managing a multi‑auditor, multi‑site audit program
  • Evaluating regulatory compliance against federal, provincial/state, and local requirements
  • Reviewing corporate health and safety management systems and implementing site‑level systems
  • Conducting desktop document reviews, wall‑to‑wall site inspections, and employee interviews
  • Identifying EH&S compliance with regulatory requirements, including potential noncompliance and process improvements
  • Documenting detailed findings and developing action plans with prioritized, risk‑based corrective actions
  • Communicating continuously through all phases of the audit program from pre‑audit planning to site kickoff meetings and exit briefings

Audits followed a structured, repeatable methodology, incorporating pre‑audit regulatory review, document and records assessments, on‑site fieldwork, and daily briefings. Findings were documented in a secure, interactive tracking platform where clear regulatory violations were noted and photographic evidence, risk rankings, and recommended corrective actions were recorded. The approach emphasized root cause analysis, practical remediation, and actively engaging site personnel to support ownership and timely closure of findings.

The program delivered consistent, defensible compliance outcomes and improved visibility into systemic risks and recurring issues across the organization. It also strengthened communication between corporate and site leadership while providing practical, site‑specific recommendations that enhanced regulatory readiness and reinforced a culture of continuous improvement across geographically dispersed operations.
