Air curtain incinerators (ACIs) are devices used for incinerating primarily vegetative and organic waste and designed to reduce particulate matter and smoke by forcefully projecting a curtain of air across an open combustion chamber, open pit, or trench. ACIs are highly regulated on both a state and federal level and require a Title V permit in most situations. Because of this, obtaining an air permit for an ACI can be a highly complex process. EHS Support has successfully obtained Title V permits for ACIs for facilities in multiple states, with minimal monitoring, recordkeeping, and reporting requirements. As part of the permitting process, we conducted a full state and federal regulatory review to determine applicable requirements and develop a compliance plan for the client.
