EHS Support Team Named 2025 WEF Award Winner

We’re thrilled to announce that the EHS Support team has been recognized by Water Environment Federation (WEF) for their pioneering work in water knowledge and practice, strengthening our position as a global leader in fluoride remediation.

Andrew Fowler and Nigel Goulding have been awarded the McKee Groundwater Protection, Restoration, or Sustainable Use Award for their groundbreaking research, “Fluoride Geochemistry in Groundwater at Regulated Industrial Sites,” published in Water Environment Research. This achievement marks a significant milestone in our strategic growth project focused on fluoride fate and transport.

Most studies on fluoride in natural waters don’t apply their findings to industrial sites. This makes it difficult to design sampling and compliance monitoring programs and inform remediation decision-making. To bridge this gap, this study analyzed 566 groundwater samples from various industrial waste streams associated with elevated fluoride and that span a range of geochemical conditions. While the findings provide much-needed clarity on fluoride mobility, the study also highlights uncertainties in current quantitative models.

EHS Support is committed to turning this research into practical solutions. The Fluoride Fate and Transport Strategic Growth Project, which is part of our long-term growth plan, is focused on addressing anticipated client needs, including research into regulatory trends and changes, as well as scientific advancements. In short, we aim to provide higher confidence in information used for remediation decision making to minimize cost overruns and preserve resources.
