EHS Support Expands Canadian Sediment and Risk Assessment Capabilities

EHS Support is excited to welcome Elena Legrand, PhD, as a Senior Scientist based in Ottawa. This addition enhances our Sediment and Risk Assessment (SRA) capabilities and strengthens our growing Canadian team.

Elena specializes in aquatic and marine ecotoxicology, with 10 years of experience integrating environmental chemistry, laboratory experimentation, and field-based studies to evaluate the effects of chemical contaminants in complex ecological systems. Her work focuses on analyzing biological responses and exposure pathways using data-driven and multidisciplinary approaches to support environmental assessments and interpretation. Elena has contributed to mining effluents toxicity assessments, sediment toxicity assessments, Canadian environmental effects monitoring programs, and human health and ecological risk assessments for contaminated sites across Ontario, Quebec, and Alberta. At EHS Support, Elena supports a variety of clients, including those in the specialty chemicals, metals, and mining industries.

She has experience supporting applied research and technical projects, including study design, data analysis, and interpreting complex biological and environmental datasets. Elena has contributed to peer-reviewed publications and scientific presentations in both national and international settings and is an accomplished science communicator in both English and French. She also supports mentorship and knowledge transfer, helping to translate technical findings into clear, actionable scientific insights for diverse audiences.

Elena’s background strengthens our commitment to providing high-quality technical support for clients across Canada. We look forward to applying her vast experience to our SRA projects and Canadian operations. Please join us in welcoming her to the team!
