Stacey Koch is a licensed professional engineer with 25+ years of diverse experience as an environmental engineer working with industry, state agencies, and NGOs. As a consultant, she has been involved in environmental design projects from site investigation through site remediation under CERCLA, RCRA, and other state regulatory programs. Her experience includes providing full engineering services from project management, planning, design, to implementation and construction documentation. Her areas of expertise include the evaluation and remediation of sites with chlorinated solvent, petroleum, heavy metal and other hazardous chemical impacts in soil, groundwater, and sediment. She has provided permitting and design services for industrial wastewater systems and was the project manager on a major brownfield redevelopment project. Her solutions-oriented approach ensures client’s needs are met in an efficient, effective manner.
Stacey also worked as a sustainability expert in the non-profit sector, leading the development of several science-based standards under ISO 14020/14024 that define sustainability leadership in the marketplace, and served as the project manager certifying products to these life cycle-based standards. This work included interacting with a wide group of stakeholders including purchasers, manufacturers, and scientists from the chemical manufacturing and pulp and paper business sectors.
Stacey has a strong background in chemistry, which aids in her ability to assess and understand emerging contaminants. As the industrial pretreatment coordinator at the Madison Metropolitan Sewerage District, she managed the per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) fate and transport project for the treatment plant. She also worked as the stormwater engineer for the State of Wisconsin.
